Our favorite Columbus corners

Posted April 27, 2009
By Irene Alvarez, Marketing Project Manager

As part of a project created by the Columbus Social Media Cafe , a few of our staff members took to their favorite "corners" of Columbus. Below, you’ll find the photos they snapped and a little bit about why they love the corners they do.

Victorian Village
by Kelly Brooks, Events/Marketing Coordinator

Park Street

With the sun shining and the weather warming, Victorian Village is full of corners I know and love. Once again runners fill the sidewalks, dogs play in Goodale Park and diners pack into restaurant patios. It’s active and energetic, yet cozy and inviting. It’s a little corner of Columbus I’m happy to call home.

High Street and New England Avenue
by Cathe Moog, Director, Marketing

Park Street

My favorite corner is at High Street and New England Avenue, in the heart of Olde Worthington . On one side is the beautiful, historic Worthington Inn with classic fine cuisine (and great happy hour specials). On the other side is a collection of newer and upcoming restaurants and retailers: The Candle Lab, House Wine and CaffĂ© Daniela. I always take my out-of-town friends here. They’re casual, fun places to gather and we love the local flavor and friendly proprietors.

Park Street
by Sayaka Sekiguchi, Events Manager

Park Street

My favorite corner of Columbus is Park Street, between Goodale and Vine . When I came back to Columbus after living out of state for several years, I was happy to see there were new hang outs in the area (a couple favorites: Park Street Patio and Spice Gastro Lounge & Club). Whether you are looking for a casual happy hour with your colleagues or you want to have a night out on the town dancing with your friends, there’s a spot for you.

Nationwide and Neil
by Scott Peacock, Media Relations Manager

Park Street

My favorite corner is Nationwide and Neil in the Arena District , where I spend most of my days. Home to Experience Columbus, Huntington Park, the LC Pavilion, Rise & Dine and Dale’s Deli, people are out and about here. It’s an intersection of entertainment, food and fun in Columbus.

Third and Grandview, Grandview
by Pete McGinty, Vice President, Marketing

Park Street

My favorite corner is Third and Grandview, in Grandview Heights . It is the heart and soul of this warm, inviting community. From jeans to suits, any restaurant, bar, coffee house or shop will welcome you with open arms. There is so much variety within a few short blocks. Restaurants: Spagio, Figlio, Thom’s, Aladdin’s, Z Cucina, Shoku, Grandview Cafe and more. Coffee: Stauf’s, Caribou, Panera and more. Live music, galleries and unique retail, it’s all here.
