Restaurant Week Review: Lindey’s

It is impressive to see all the new and hip restaurants open up in Columbus offering unique and creative flavors to its guests. What’s even more impressive is a hip restaurant that has been offering unique and creative dishes for more than 30 years.
I love going out and trying new restaurants in Columbus but there is something about a dining experience at Lindey’s that sets it apart from all the others. Perhaps it’s the ambiance; the coffered tin ceiling, the patio covered by a canopy of trees, the caricatures on the walls – or maybe it’s dining in the product of a true American success story. The owner, Sue Doody, worked relentlessly to create one of the best fine dining experiences in Columbus. Regardless of why you like dining at Lindey’s, there is no doubt it has won the stomachs and charmed the hearts of Columbus residents and visitors.
One of my favorite dishes at Lindey’s is their rib eye. I can usually finish it as long as I don’t over indulge in their warm sourdough bread and crispy parmesan-encrusted flat breads. Chef switches it up and serves it with different sides, currently the rib eye is paired with a smoked gouda mac and cheese.
They have a great Happy Hour as well, offering ½-off beers, wine by the glass, martini list, and the bar menu. The bar menu includes pot stickers that are not to be missed as well as the famous Lindey’s crab cakes. This happens every weekday from 4:30pm – 6:30pm.
This year for 614 Restaurant Week, Lindey’s is serving up some really creative dishes. Pork belly with root beer infused BBQ sauce, seared duck breast, and a passion fruit crème brulee are just a few dishes on the slate. Here is the complete menu for Restaurant Week.
It is exciting to see Columbus’ food scene recognized nationally as being top notch, creative and diverse. It is the combination restaurant Chefs and their staff taking pride in their work every single day and entrepreneurs taking the risk to open a new concept. Restaurant Week is not only a time to try out new places and visit ones we love but also to honor the industry and thank them for making our city so unique.
