The North Market plays host to a multitude of exciting events such as the Apron Gala, Artisan Sunday and the ever in-demand Chef Series, but one of the most popular has to be the Columbus Microbrew Festival. The 3-day event, taking place September 13-15, highlights the burgeoning microbrew scene that continues to solidify Columbus as a go to destination for food and drink connoisseurs.
This year’s festival will highlight 20 craft brewers from all over Ohio, including some of Columbus’ most beloved like Barley’s Brewing Company, Seventh Son Brewing, Elevator Brewing Company, and Four String Brewing Company. Home brewers and craft beer enthusiasts alike will be glad to know that representatives from all of the microbreweries will be on hand to discuss their product. In addition to all the amazing craft beers, you can stop by one of the North Market’s 35 vendors and pair your beverages with delicious food all without even having to walk outside!
Once you become so knowledgeable that you declare yourself a brew master, you’ll need a place to reflect and devise your plan to dominate the craft beer world. Where would I go to do that you ask? The same place! Each day of the festival features awesome music by artists like Apple Bottom Gang, Gipson & Fritz and Angela Perley.
Beer tasting admission is $20 which includes a commemorative pint glass, ten tasting tickets and a $5 North Market food certificate. Discount coupons good for $2 off the tasting admission fee will be available at participating microbreweries in September. If ten tasting tickets aren’t enough, you can purchase more for $.50. The hours for the festival are Friday, 5-10 p.m. , Saturday 12-10 p.m. and Sunday, 12-5 p.m. For more information and to see the complete list of participating microbrewers, like Columbus Microbrew Festival Presented by Heartland Bank on Facebook.
