Longwood Gardens- Snowball Chandelier- 2012 (1)Visiting Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is in my top 5 must do activities in Columbus for any visitor and Columbus dweller alike. One of the great aspects of Franklin Park Conservatory is that it is always beautiful regardless of the time of year or weather outside, so you really have no excuse not to go!

When most locals think of Franklin Park Conservatory, the perennial favorites come to mind – Chihuly and Blooms and Butterflies. However, starting Sept. 25, Franklin Park Conservatory will play host to the spectacular light-based work of British artist, Bruce Munro. The exhibit boasts over ten installations spread throughout the Conservatory both inside and out. Each installation is unique in its use of light and ornate construction. Two installations are distinctive to Columbus, for Munro redesigned two of his pieces solely for Franklin Park Conservatory. This one of a kind installation can be seen in its full illumination Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings from 5-11 p.m. from Sept. 25, 2013-Feb. 8, 2014. Cost for non-members is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, $6 for all ages 3-17, and free for children under 2.
