Columbus’ Holiday Gift Guide for Local Drinks

The most wonderful time of year is right around the corner! Give your family and friends the gift of Columbus’ local, artisan food and drink this holiday season. Here are some Columbus-made gifts that any food and drink lover would be delighted to receive:
Watershed Distillery’s Bourbon Barrel Gin – Described by Food & Wine as, “exquisitely silky,” this Four Peel Gin aged in carefully selected old bourbon barrels results in a surprising and delicious beverage for all of your holiday parties. Find your bottle at Watershed’s distillery on Chespeake Ave. or at most local liquor stores, including those within Kroger.
Middle West Spirits OYO Vodka - OYO is made from local soft red winter wheat, and demonstrates a perfect balance of cutting-edge technology, old-world traditions, and the finest farm-fresh ingredients. Referred to as a “whiskey-lover’s” vodka, OYO makes an excellent sipping spirit, and it’s a perfect pairing for mixers and culinary creations. You can pick up a bottle at Middlewest’s distillery near High Street and 5th Avenue.
A 6-pack or growler of local beer – Create your own six-pack of local beer at The Hills Market! The Hills Market is a locally-owned specialty grocer that focuses on their love of food, Ohio and the community. Single bottles are available for individual sale or for mixed six-packs. Most Columbus microbreweries sell freshly poured growlers of beer – Seventh Son, Barley’s and North High Brewing are great spots to pick up beers that just aren’t available bottled.
Brothers Drake Mead – Brothers Drake has a hyper-local process and product. Made from local honey and local flavorings, mead is honey-wine, and it’s delicious. Their products are available in many retail locations in Central Ohio – and is usually in stock at The Hills Market and Whole Foods locations.
And finally, Rockmill Brewery‘s Belgian-style beers. Whether it’s a hearty cask-aged trippel or a tart and sunny saison, Rockmill’s beer was recently named one of America’s 10 best farmhouse breweries by Bon Appetit. These beers come in large bottles perfect to share, sip and savor and would be perfect to bring to your next holiday party. Pick it up at the North Market’s The Barrel & Bottle or treat yourself to a trip to the brewery and its beautiful rural setting in Lancaster.
