Dare to be moved by the best in classical and contemporary dance. BalletMet Columbus, renowned for its versatility and innovative repertory, ranks among the nation’s largest dance companies, and its Dance Academy ranks among the largest professional dance-training centers. Since its inception in 1978, BalletMet has added more than 140 company premieres to its repertoire and produced more than 115 world premieres. It has also developed DanceReach, a series of educational and outreach programs that serve 20,000 people annually, as well as a scholarship program that provides tuition for youth.
The company offers dance performances for all audiences, including the annual holiday treat for families, The Nutcracker. Special free open rehearsals and open houses are offered periodically. Experiential tours are available by appointment. Groups of 10 or more can receive ticket discounts.
The Dance Academy offers a wide range of classes for children and adults alike at facilities in downtown Columbus and Gahanna. Each summer, the Academy hosts camps, workshops and more for children ages three and up.
