Kauffman named Employee of the
Year
Kari Kauffman, director of tourism, was named the Experience Columbus Employee of the Year Jan. 22 at The River Club at Confluence Park.
Kauffman, a staff member
for 23 years, was the 2008 winner of the Ohio Travel
Association’s Paul
Sherlock Award, the most prestigious individual award bestowed upon a
member of the Ohio tourism industry.
Market your events in the Ohio Calendar of Events
Promote your attraction’s events through the Ohio Tourism Division’s Fall/Winter Ohio Calendar of Events, which covers events occurring September through February. The deadline to register events is 5 p.m., Friday, April 16. Event information also will be listed on DiscoverOhio.com and ExperienceColumbus.com.
Huntington Park named Ballpark
of the Year - again
Huntington Park received its third award as the 2009 Ballpark of the Year in mid-December. Ballpark Digest was the latest to honor the Columbus Clippers’ new home, along with BaseballParks.com and DigitalBallparks.com.
Plumley
leads industry association
Experience Columbus Communications Manager Claudia Plumley is serving as the chair of the Columbus Arts Marketing Association. The association is comprised of marketing professionals at more than 50 Central Ohio arts organizations.
Short North honors Experience
Columbus
The Short North Business Association honored Experience Columbus at its Feb. 17 annual meeting. Experience Columbus was one of three partners recognized for promoting the Short North Arts District.
Port Columbus teams with Columbus Museum of Art
The Columbus Regional Airport Authority partnered with the Columbus Museum of Art to introduce Columbus artist Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson to the millions of people who travel through Port Columbus every year. Two of her paintings, titled Street Called Home and Mt. Vernon Avenue, were reproduced as wall wraps across from the airline ticket counters.
