These community leaders joined the Experience Columbus board of directors.
Alex
Fischer
President
and CEO
The
Columbus Partnership
Alex Fischer joined The Columbus Partnership as president and CEO in
November 2009. Previously, he served as deputy governor of Tennessee
and senior vice president for business and economic development for
Battelle.
Lisa Ingram
Vice President of Restaurant Operations
White
Castle
Lisa Ingram is responsible for overall profit and loss management and
strategic direction for White Castle’s restaurant division, as
well as
strategic direction for its real estate department. She joined the
Experience Columbus board in late 2009.
Dale Schmidt
Executive Director
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
Dale Schmidt joined the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in October 2008 as
assistant zoo director and chief operations officer, before taking over
as executive director in June 2009. Previously he served as president
and chief executive officer of the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
Experience Columbus welcomed two new staff members this spring, along with promoting Melissa DeGraw Metz to director of membership.
Michael
Brown
Director of Development and Public Affairs
In the new position, Michael Brown will be an advocate for sustainable
tourism funding support from the public sector, corporate partners and
sponsorships to maximize Experience Columbus' potential
as an economic development engine for
Central Ohio.
Previously he served more than nine years as communications director
for Mayor Michael B. Coleman before being named urban ventures
coordinator in 2008.
Melissa
DeGraw Metz
Director of Membership
Melissa DeGraw Metz was promoted to director of membership after
serving as membership manager since December 2007. She replaces Xenia
Palus, the director of membership since 2001 who is now serving as
director of communications and constituency relations for the Franklin
County Clerk of Courts.
Anna Gebert
National Sales Manager
Based in Washington, D.C., Anna Gebert is responsible for promoting and
selling Columbus as a convention and meeting destination to
associations in the nation’s capital and outlying areas. She
previously served in Washington, D.C as national convention sales
manager for the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission.
