Chihuly in Columbus at the Franklin Park Conservatory
Now thru March 28, 2010
Franklin Park Conservatory's signature collection of Dale Chihuly artworks are on view along with three new installations by this world-renowned glass artist. Originally exhibited in 2003-2004 and viewed by more than 300,000 visitors, the works are placed throughout the conservatory's glasshouses amongst the plant collections.

Chihuly in Columbus at the Columbus Museum of Art
Now thru July 4, 2010
Chihuly Illuminated focuses on the element of light intrinsic to Dale Chihuly's glass art. The exhibition includes neon sculpture, large-scale installations, drawings and related work from the early 1970s to the present, revealing the artist's career-long fascination with light as medium and concept. Featuring works that have never before seen in Columbus, Chihuly Illuminated also includes pieces from the artist's private collection, offering a personal glimpse into his studio and work.

Chihuly XIV at Hawk Galleries
October 2, 2009-January 31, 2010
Dale Chihuly will be mounting his 14th solo exhibition in Columbus with Tom Hawk, director of Hawk Galleries, titled Chihuly XIV, featuring the Picasso of glass, his most recent sculpture. Hawk Galleries feels privileged to showcase the artists' masterful works, which are currently featured in the permanent collections of nearly 200 museums worldwide. A couple of featured pieces at Hawk will be Chihuly's last Waterford crystal Chandelier and another visually dynamic and very rare Persian Chandelier. Chihuly has recently been exploring a variety of works in black glass, and so the show will be featuring a Black Sconce, Black Macchia and Black Venetians. Chihuly's Hawk exhibition will also feature Sealife Stoppers, a Persian Wall Installation and a Drawing Wall composed of 20 individual paintings.

Polar Frontier at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
Opening Spring 2010
Polar bears will return to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in the new Polar Frontier-the zoo's second new major exhibit area, following the opening of Asia Quest in summer 2006. Polar Frontier also will be home to Arctic foxes and Alaskan brown bears.

McDonald's All American High School Basketball Games at Value City Arena
March 31, 2010
The 2010 McDonald's All American High School Basketball games is recognized as the premier showcase for the top high school basketball players in the country. A total of 24 boys and 24 girls will be selected for the games from a pool of more than 2,500 nominees nationwide.

Contemporary American Theatre Company: Pierce to the Soul at Studio Two Theatre, Riffe Center

Born the son of a former Mississippi slave, Elijah Pierce migrated north in the early 1900s and settled in Columbus to become a preacher, barbershop owner and one of America's most-celebrated folk artists. Pierce to the Soul, a world premiere written by Columbus playwright Chiquita Mullins Lee, celebrates this hometown hero - his struggles, his triumphs, and the vibrant life that swirled around him in Columbus for more than 50 years.

Broadway Across America-Columbus: Wicked at the Ohio Theatre
July 28-August 29, 2010
Back for a second time in Columbus! Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for "the most completely satisfying new musical in a long time"- according to USA Today.

Center for Creativity at the Columbus Museum of Art
Opens October 2010
Opening along with the new renovations at the Columbus Museum of Art, the Center for Creativity will allow visitors of all ages to create, design, problem-solve and play. It includes a fully wired Innovation Lab and an art-making studio.

NCAA Division I Men's Basketball First- and Second -Round Games at Nationwide Arena

The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championships return to Columbus.

Scioto Mile on the Downtown riverfront
Opening 2012
As part of Columbus' Bicentennial Celebration in 2012, Scioto Mile will feature a promenade and renovations to Bicentennial Park, headquarters for many of the city's annual festivals and events. When complete, the Scioto Mile will stretch from the Arena District to Whittier Peninsula and feature parks, boulevards, water features, plazas and bikeway and pedestrian paths, creating a green corridor that reconnects the downtown to the river.

African Savanna at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
Opening 2014
Lions, cheetahs, wild dogs/hyenas, giraffes, zebras and other African animals will inhabit African Savanna.
