We’re all looking for fun ways to ring in 2016, and Columbus will have no shortage of parties to attend. Here are a few suggestions if you’re looking for a more low-key shindig just for the two of you.

drakeIf you’re a couple who likes live music, get tickets to Brothers Drake. The meadery is known for good drinks and lots of music, and you’ll get both on New Year’s Eve. The music that night is jazz-focused, so it should be a laid back time.

Continuing on the music theme, you might check out Copious and their basement music venue Notes. Their New Year’s Eve gala takes place in Notes and the upstairs McGowen Loft, with a Winter Wonderland theme.

Maybe you enjoy sampling beers together? The Crest in Clintonville is hosting New Beer’s Eve. All year long they’ve been saving kegs of rare beers, and on New Year’s Eve they’re tapping all of them. You’ll have plenty to sample – and then some – as you round out 2015.

Several breweries are hosting parties with special beer releases, like Lineage Brewing in Clintonville and Wolf’s Ridge Brewing downtown.

Or maybe you’d like to ring out the year with some laughs? The Columbus Funny Bone is hosting a special night with comedian Ian Bagg. The 10 p.m. show features a dinner buffet and a champagne toast. You can pair the night with a hotel stay at the Easton Courtyard by Marriott.

Those are a few ideas for you! Where do you plan to spend New Year’s Eve?
