A Night Owls' Guide to Columbus
April 22, 2014
Columbus is definitely a city that knows how to let its hair down. So if you love the nightlife, you’ll love Columbus. Here are a few of our favorite things to do once the sun goes down.
Arena District – Turns out, if you build they will come. Since Nationwide Arena was opened in 2000, the surrounding area has become one of Columbus’ hottest districts.
Hollywood Casino – Located on Columbus’ west side, this Vegas-style casino offers gambling, entertainment and a whole lot of fun, 24/7.
High Ball Halloween – Any description of this zany yearly event would not do it justice. Suffice to say though, it’s fun and you’ve never seen anything like it.
Brothers Drake Meadery – Ever have a cold glass of mead after a long day? Don’t worry. Neither had we. But it’s great and it’s waiting for you at this unique meadery and bar, and there's local live music almost every night.
Short North Art District – A perennial Columbus favorite, this section of High Street is full of galleries, eateries and interesting bars.
Strongwater Food and Spirits – Located in the 400 W. Rich Arts Complex in the up-and-coming Franklinton area, this bar serves local and regional beer and cocktails to an eclectic mix of regulars.
Red, White and Boom – There are fireworks displays and then there’s Red, White and Boom. Held from noon- 11 p.m. on July 3, this explosive extravaganza lives up to its reputation year after year.
