This past year has been anything but normal, and while it has been incredibly difficult for many, there is still so much to be proud of in our community. As we get ready to say goodbye to 2020, we’ve rounded up our favorite moments of the year as a reminder of all we have to be grateful for despite the circumstances.
1. Crew are MLS Cup Champions
The championship is fitting after the community rallied to save the team less than two years ago and the team says goodbye to their home stadium on a high note before moving to a new downtown stadium in 2021.
2. Columbus Set the Bar on Safety
3. Columbus Zoo offers new attractions for visitors
4. Many new restaurants opened brick-and mortar locations
Including District West, a new drag bar from Columbus queen Virginia West, which is able to offer safe and socially distant performances and serves as a truly inclusive space for anyone who identifies as LGBTQ.
5. A variety of awards were achieved
Looking forward to 2021
While it’s still unclear exactly what 2021 will bring, there’s plenty of hope on the horizon.
The addition will expand the property to 1,000 rooms and make it the largest hotel in the state.
The 20,000-seat stadium sits side-by-side our other professional sporting facilities in the Arena District, increasing our already walkable entertainment district.
