It's easier than ever to bring your dog when you visit Columbus! We've launched a new program that helps you identify the best places to stay and play when you come with your pup. The region is home to numerous dog-friendly lodging options for any budget and plenty of places throughout Columbus allow you to bring your dog along so you can enjoy some R&R together. We've created this logo, which will let you know where in Columbus your dog is welcomed. We'll also update you with dog-travel tips throughout the year - our first installment, below, about your huge variety of lodging options.
If you are looking to experience the great outdoors with your four-legged friend but still want to sleep in a bed at night, the Columbus region has got you covered. Head south to scenic Hocking Hills and rent a Camping Cabin through Hocking Hills Canoe Livery or visit Deer Creek State Park Lodge and stay in one of the lodge’s dog-friendly cabins. Just East of Columbus in the beautiful Welsh Hills, the Lazy River at Granville offers several dog-friendly rentals. Their campground amenities including mini golf, a swimming pool and a fenced-in dog park!
You and your pooch also have plenty of affordable hotel options throughout the destination. On the North side of the city, stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Columbus Worthington, Residence Inn Columbus Polaris or the Cloverleaf Suites. While you’re in the area, be sure to stop by Alum Creek Dog Park which features a doggie beach for your pet to swim. On the East side, overnight at the Columbus Airport Marriott, Staybridge Suites Columbus Airport or Best Western Port Columbus. These properties are just a short drive away from Easton, a premier shopping destination with retail stores and restaurants that you and your dog can both enjoy.
If you’re visiting the West and South side of Columbus, overnight at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus-Hilliard, Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Columbus-West, Drury Inn & Suites Columbus South or the Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus South. Minutes away from these hotels is Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park which features more than 7,000 acres of forest, prairies and wetlands for you and your pet to explore.
Or pamper your pup with an overnight at an upscale full service property. The Hilton Columbus Downtown, Hilton Columbus at Easton and the Hilton Columbus/Polaris offer you and your pet top-notch services and amenities at three prime locations within Columbus. At The Westin Columbus your dog will enjoy the same rejuvenating slumber as you on the hotel chain’s world-renowned Heavenly Dog Bed. Or, for a boutique hotel experience stay at the Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph. The hotel’s signature pet care program includes a dog bed, food and water bowls and a special floor mat. Dog owners also receive clean-up supplies and a welcome kit.
With so many great options for every price range, there’s no reason why your furry friend can’t join you on your next visit to Columbus.
