Brunch at Pistacia Vera
August 24, 2012
Pistacia Vera is known as the premier spot in Columbus for French patisserie, but did you know that they also have become quite a hotspot for more savory brunch items?
The bakery’s menu changes with the seasons, but eggs are always present in some form. The baked eggs with tomato-eggplant ratatouille are a stand out. They’re perfectly cooked so that the yolks are soft enough to dip pieces of toasted croissant into – if you haven’t already spread housemade jam on that croissant.
The tuna nicoise elclair might not sound like something you’d want first thing in the morning – but trust me: you do. An impossibly light savory éclair is split and filled with the highest quality tuna, olives, capers and an assortment of fresh vegetables. It comes with a side of mixed greens, and is a perfect match with Pistacia Vera’s iced green tea.
And of course, it’s hard to pass up the macarons, chocolate chip-pistachio cookies and variety of beautiful cakes – so many people who go for brunch end up taking a box of treats for later, too.
