It’s no secret to those who know me that I love to eat. And every year, I use Experience Columbus Days as my chance to try new restaurants at a discount. Now that there are ten more Dine Originals Columbus restaurants than last year, I am having a hard time deciding where to go!
I asked some of my Experience Columbus peeps where they plan on going next weekend; here are their suggestions:
Kelly Brooks : This year my sister and her husband are coming to visit and I'm taking them to Katalina's Cafe Corner. This Victorian Village favorite recently underwent a number of changes, including an updated interior and an expanded menu. I can't wait to try some of the new items (pancake balls filled with nutella, anyone?), as well as revisit some old favorites.
Linda Logan : I am looking forward to going to Alana's and starting out with the cheese plate. This changes daily and it's always an adventure. Alana sources local, seasonal ingredients, so who knows what new treats will be on the menu now that fall is here!
Melissa DeGraw Metz : I plan on going to Figlio and Vino Vino in Grandview. We are going to start off at Vino Vino for some of their small plates like the asparagus bruchetta (our favorite), hummus and a couple of great wine flights. From there we head next door to Figlio for Peter and Laurie's Favorite Pizza - it has caramelized onion, chicken, roma tomatoes and gorgonzola cheese. Delicious!
Cathe Moog : My husband and I are going to The Top Steakhouse in Bexley. We've always heard it is one of the best, old-school steakhouses. It's been around for more than 50 years and even has live piano music.
Alissa Preston : I'll definitely be hitting Barrio, I just can't decide if it will be for lunch or dinner. For lunch, I love the grilled beef wrap. For dinner, we order a bunch of small plates, and eat...and eat...and eat - the Beef Medallion with Chimichurri is my husband's favorite, and I love all of the empanada choices. The atmosphere is great, we can sit for hours and enjoy the food and drink!
My mouth is definitely watering! What Dine Originals restaurant are you going to during Experience Columbus Days? Whichever it is, remember that reservations are strongly encouraged .
