Homestyle cooking at the Dutch Kitchen

October is finally here bring on the pumpkins, apple cider and the beautiful fall leaves! Kelly recently shared a whole slew of ideas for fun, family-friendly activities , but I have one more to add: Consider a trip to Plain City for the Dutch Kitchen’s Fall Family Fun Festival, which is happening all month long. It’s not that far of a drive, yet you feel like you are out in the country.

Admission to the Family Fun Festival is free and outdoor activities include:

  • Petting zoo
  • Hay bale maze
  • Pumpkin-carving contest
  • Nature walk on trail
  • Horse-drawn wagon rides (weekends only)
  • Face painting (weekends only)
Hours are Monday- Friday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

And there is nothing that excites me more than some good ol’ down home cooking fried chicken mashed potatoes, corn, green beans…my mouth is watering just thinking of it! To commemorate their 50th Anniversary, Dutch Kitchen will have food specials from Oct. 11-15:

  • Oct. 11: All chicken dinners are 50% off
