TEDx Columbus  Oct. 11 Columbus’ most curious and creative, interesting and interested, positive and progressive thinkers and doers will gather at COSI to be inspired by visionaries sharing unique stories and valuable perspectives. Attendees leave with inspired thinking and new connections.

TEDx Youth@Columbus  Oct. 10 High School “change agents” will gather to hear TEDx talks from 15-20 college-age speakers, then engage in a mentored incubator section afterward to resource-share and brainstorm.

Design Weeks 2013 Oct. 5 - Nov. 2 Design Week will promote and celebrate local design and will seek to bring together the allied design industries in Columbus including but not limited to Architecture, Planning, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Preservation, Industrial Design, Communicating Arts, Film and Fashion. The aspiration is to create collaborative opportunities where the allied design professionals come together as one design force within the city. Our goal is to blur boundaries between disciplines through the cross-pollination of ideas and talents and to raise awareness of the power of design and design thinking.

Mini Maker Faire  Oct. 13 Maker Faires are the premier events for grassroots American innovation. These family friendly Faires have something for everyone – a showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness and a celebration of the Maker mindset. The Columbus Mini Maker Faire in particular represents the cross-section of Central Ohio’s creative, technological, educational and entrepreneurial classes, and we look forward to highlighting the capabilities of the new DIY maker movement, and educating the general public about how the Maker movement of Central Ohio can further be empowered by year-round workshop access through the Columbus Idea Foundry.

CSCC Columbus State Day Oct. 12 As part of Columbus State’s 50th Anniversary celebration, for Columbus State Day the College is inviting the Central Ohio community to join us on the Downtown Campus for classes, demonstrations, workshops, and other fun educational activities that highlight the extensive practical knowledge and expertise the College offers.
