Nothing is better than a summer evening under the stars listening to live music, enjoying great food/drinks and hanging out with friends. Gahanna’s 15th annual Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival (CBJF), presented June 14-16 by the Gahanna Convention & Visitors Bureau (GCVB), offers the perfect opportunity to seize the summer.
The event features 90 hours of the BEST blues and jazz music in Ohio, showcasing five stages of local, regional and national acts. Set in Creekside Park and Olde Gahanna, the CBJF includes a wide selection of outstanding food trucks/vendors, a Musical Discovery Zone with family friendly activities, amusement rides, an artisan market and a Sunday Father’s Day Jazz Brunch.
With a history for bringing unparalleled blues and jazz musicians to Olde Gahanna, the CBJF continues that tradition in 2013 with a line-up that includes: Kelly Richey Band, Anthony Gomes, Kilborn Alley, Brooks Family Blues Dynasty and Davina and the Vagabonds headlining the AEP Ohio Electric Blues Stage. On the Heartland Bank Jazz Stage, central Ohio favorites Marion Meadows with the Urban Jazz Coalition, Yumbambe and the Christian Howes Quartet will perform.
Festival hours are: 5-11 p.m. Friday, June 14; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, June 15; and Noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 16. General admission, $4. Weekend passes, $10 (available Friday only).
