If you know downtown Columbus at all, you know Gay Street is the go-to place to a mix of unique local restaurants and shops. You can dine at Latitude 41, Plantain Cafe, Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails; get caffeinated at Cafe Brioso; or check out the goods at Zeroz Wallets.

Of course, never content to let a neighborhood be merely awesome, a group of Columbusites has come together to put on the monthly Moonlight Market, a monthly event at which the shops and restaurants stay open until 11 p.m., and street vendors fill in along Gay Street and adjacent parts of Front Street from 6 - 11 p.m.

Whether you're looking for homegoods, fashion, art or artisan foods from indie startup businesses, you'll find it at Moonlight Market. Or maybe you just want to stroll one of downtown's most vibrant streets after the sun goes down, hopping from restaurant to restaurant - sounds good to me!

Moonlight Market takes place the second Saturday of every month through September. (June 8, July 13, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14, 2013) Parking is a breeze, with the garage at 4th St. and Elm only charging $1/hour. If you're staying near the Convention Center or anywhere downtown, it's an easy walk.
