Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and there are plenty of things to do in Columbus to celebrate - whether you spend it with a special someone, your dearest friends or with your family. I started to research for my own plans, and thought I'd share a few of the things that sounded unique and fun.
Valentine’s Day at White Castle Feb. 14 from 5-8 p.m. This is an annual tradition for many couples across America and I must say, it’s on my bucket list! Bring your valentine to White Castle to enjoy a juicy slider or two. Call 614-294-3753 ext. 24 for reservations.
Valentines by Candlelight Feb. 11-12 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. For a more elegant feel, take your date to the Ohio Historical Center. After a romantic dinner, you will be treated to Ohio Village Singers singing beautiful ballads and reciting romantic poetry. Cost is $60 per person or $50 for an Ohio Historical Society member. Call 800-686-6124 by Feb. 7 to make reservations.
Valentines Wine Dinner Feb. 12 from 7:30-10 p.m. If you are a wine person, head to Wyandotte Winery. They are offering a six course wine dinner for $75 per person, includes tax and gratuity. Music, food and wine…doesn’t get any better than that! Reservations are a must - call 614-476-3626 or email email@example.com.
Valentine’s Day at the Conservatory Feb. 14 from 5:30-10 p.m. Franklin Park Conservatory would be a great option for a date with your special someone or a girls night out. For only $11 per person, you get three wine and chocolate pairings while enjoying Chihuly and other exhibits throughout the conservatory. Reservations not required.
Ten Cents a Dance Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. The Columbus Dance Theatre will present Ten Cents a Dance, featuring Chicago cabaret entertainer Kathryn Payne. For $50 a person, the evening includes dinner, drinks, and heartwarming song and dance. Tickets available online .
Love in the Time of Comedy Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., through Feb. 12 For a laugh, head out to MadLab Theatre & Gallery as their improv troupe, Full Frontal Nudity, retells your best and worst first date stories from a different point of view. Tickets are only $10 per person and are available online .
A Chocolate Valentine’s Day On Feb. 14 from 3:15-4:15 p.m., the Grandview Heights Public Library will host children grades K-3 for special Valentine's Day fun. Kids will make a delicious Valentine’s day treat for themselves and one additional treat to bring home as a gift. Cost is only $1, and space is limited to 30 participants. Valentine’s Weekend Parents Night Out Program On Feb. 11 from 6-10 p.m., you can drop off your children (ages 5-14) at COSI while you have a romantic Valentine’s night out. Your kids will be in great hands, with dinner and activities included. Cost is $40 for the first child and $15 for each additional child for COSI members, or $50 for the first child and $20 for each additional child for nonmembers. Reservations are required; make them by calling 614-228-2674.
