What to Do with Holiday Visitors, Part 1: COSI and BODY WORLDS & the Brain!
December 3, 2012
We all have this dilemma - you have a house full of guests, and can't think of a fun activity that will work for everyone. Well, we at Experience Columbus are always full of good ideas for things to do around the city, so over the next week, we won't only be giving you ideas: We'll also be giving away 4-packs of tickets to all the attractions we blog about this week! So stay tuned for some great tips and giveaways!
If you've so much as driven past Columbus before, you know that COSI is always a great place to visit. The permanent exhibits are always cool to visit and bring out-of-towners to see, but the high-caliber of special exhibits make COSI a place to return to again and again for both fun and learning.
Right now, COSI is hosting BODY WORLDS & the Brain, a incredibly engaging exhibit illuminating neuroscience through real, plastinated human specimens. The brain and nervous system are extremely complex, and you will see exactly how complex at the exhibit. The plastinated bodies are displayed tastefully, in ways that help a layperson understand just how we work. You can view comparisons of healthy brains and those with neurological disorders like Alzheimer's in cross section. It's truly astounding to see for yourself just how delicate and resilient humans are on a physical level.
If you've been to the exhibit already - you should plan on going again! COSI has added four new plastinates: The Walking Elder, The Trapeze Artist, and The Hockey Players. COSI has extended hours during the run of the exhibition, and it's open seven days a week from Dec. 26-Jan. 6.
We're giving away FOUR tickets to COSI and Body Worlds - a $99 value! To enter, pin the image in this post and use the hashtag #expcols in your description. If you're not on Pinterest, you can also enter by commenting about your favorite COSI memory on this post.
