If you are like me, you love Thanksgiving but can’t wait for it to be over so you can bust out the holiday decorations. Nothing puts me in the holiday mood quite as much as a good old holiday performance or show. Thankfully, we are blessed with a plethora of performances from which to choose (or attend them all if you’re that ambitious!) I’ll highlight a few of them below.
Vaud-Villities will hit the stage again this year for their holiday musical revue entitled “Under the Mistletoe.” This one-act revue will feature over 90 cast, crew and staff singing and dancing their way along to music from our favorite holiday motion pictures. The show will run Dec. 13-15, 2013 at the Northland Performing Arts Center in Columbus. Tickets can be purchased for $20 by calling 614-262-SHOW or online here.
Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus will once again perform their Joy! Home with the Family show this holiday season. Songs will range from classical favorites to songs from our childhoods that we all know and love. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Their last performance is Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. at Glenwood United Methodist Church. Buy tickets here.
One of the most quintessential holiday shows has to be BalletMet’s performance of The Nutcracker with music by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. With performances from December 12-24 at the Ohio Theatre, The Nutcracker is a performance that will be enjoyed by all ages. To purchase tickets visit the BalletMet page on Ticketmaster.
