In partnership with the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), Experience Columbus will welcome waves of reporters and analysts visiting Columbus throughout the election cycle with a mobile media lounge, 23-foot Airstream designed by CCAD students as an office and living space that would appeal to Millennials. May 2016 CCAD graduate, Lauren Rassenfoss, created the graphics to "wrap" the trailer in a way that reflects the vibrancy of the city and CCAD's role as a creative force. Rassenfoss said her design for the wrap was inspired by #lifeincbus image awareness campaign, that she saw in action while visiting Washington, D.C.
The Airstream itself came out of a collaboration between Ohio-based Airstream and a group of CCAD students who worked to design a model for the iconic travel brand that would appeal to young people. Students who worked on the project were part of the CCAD Student Agency, in which students of every discipline - photographers, videographers, illustrators and graphic designers - get paid to create projects used by both CCAD and outside clients. The trailer, nicknamed the Pursuit, features a pop-up desk, bedroom and flexible dinette with convertible lounge seating that doubles as an extra workspace. The project has been so well-received that Airstream has since announced that it is putting the design into commercial production.
