"Stunning and majesticparts of the film play very much like his statement from the beyond." Variety

Abbas Kiarostamis final film presents 24 four-and-a-half-minute segments composed from the Iranian directors still photographs of nature'with the notable exception of the first segment, based on a painting by Bruegel. Kiarostami then subtly animates these images to create tableaux that imagine the moments before and after the photo was taken. Like Kiarostamis best works, its an idea thats simultaneously simple and profound while playfully blurring the lines between dreams and waking life, artifice and reality.

Kiarostamis 1998 appearance at the Wex remains one of the most meaningful and memorable filmmaker visits in the centers history. 24 Frames offers a powerful farewell from this cinematic titan, who passed away in July 2016. (114 mins., DCP)
