Brooklyn new music trio Bearthoven (bearthoven.com) returns to Columbus with three world premieres by upcoming compositional voices. Karl Larson (piano), Pat Swoboda (bass) and Matt Evans (percussion) embrace a sound pallet somewhere between jazz, classical and avant-garde. The program includes Shelley Washington’s "Silk;" the world premiere of "happy/angry music" by Adam Roberts [commissioned by the Johnstone Fund]; the world premiere of "Near Sky" by Kristina Wolfe; and the world premiere of "American Dream" by Scott Wollschleger.
Cocktails are available for purchase at 6:00 p.m. at Ethel’s Lounge, adjacent to the theater. Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis. Recommended for guests age nine and older.
