The CAPA Summer Movie Series is the longest-running classic film series in America. Covering classic films and cult favorites for eight weeks this summer, our 49th year features 27 film titles including 12 series premieres, a silent film with live musical accompaniment, two Saturday mornings of classic cartoons, and the return of Fright Nite Friday hosted by Fritz the Nite Owl.

About the film: Tennessee Williams adapted his Pulitzer Prize-winning play "A Streetcar Named Desire" for the big screen in this twisted tale of secrets and scandal that won four Oscars. Troubled ex-schoolteacher Blanche DuBois moves from Mississippi to New Orleans to live with her married sister Stella, and is tormented by her brutish brother-in-law Stanley about her uppity mannerisms and what happened to the proceeds from the sale of the Dubois family estate.
