Join us for a tasty Tuesday night making homemade pasta! You will learn how to make a pasta dough that is universal for many types of pasta dishes.
DID YOU KNOW? There are 600 official pasta shapes produced throughout the world according to the International Pasta Organization.
While we won't have time to make all 600 shapes, Chef Bill will guide you through constructing 2 different types including a filled pasta with freshly prepared chicken and spinach as well as a strand pasta. You will also learn how to pair sauces with different types of pasta. Everyone will take home the pasta dough they made and enjoy a fresh pasta dish at the end of class paired with a glass of wine.
Fun fact: People ate pasta with their hands because it was much easier to grab and enjoy it. However, when sauces were introduced, it became very difficult to eat it by hand... for obvious reasons. Therefore, cutlery was added to the Italian table – first in high class culture, then becoming ubiquitous throughout the land. -- we promise to have cutlery for your meal!
Chef Bill has worked as a professional chef for over 15 years. He has won several awards at culinary competitions throughout his career. He is also a graduate of the chef apprentice program at Columbus State Community Collage.
