Closet Mix are indie-rock veterans of bands such as Great Plains, Log, Peck of Snide, Househearts, Van Echo and Vena Cava. They proudly call Columbus, Ohio their home. It would be romantic to think of them as “survivors,” but in reality, they’re just stubborn midwesterners who refuse to stop making music. Members include Christopher Nini (keyboards), Ed Shuttleworth (guitar), Paul Nini (vocals, bass), Dan Della Flora (drums) and Keith Novicki (guitar). Concerning their 2016 release, 01EP, critic Fred Mills says that their songs possess a "tingly sound awash in dreamy melodies and powered by loping rhythms. It’ll leave you happily humming throughout the day." Thanks, Fred!
Starting the night are the 3Speeds, leaving no earth unscorched as they stomp through their crunchy rawk sound. Also hailing from the Columbus alternapunk scene (Sovines, Great Plains, Oylers, Arctic Love Dogs), the 3Speeds answer the musical question "Uh, could you repeat the question?" Songs about power-tripping Russians, heroic eating and tall people - ya know, typical pop fare - litter their set. The 3Speeds spit, git and leave stains on the floor.
