The Columbus GospelFest (CGF) is a diverse annual artistic event that has had a positive impact on the Columbus community for over thirty years. This event offers a host of artistic, wellness/health, economic and social benefits not just to the disabled and African American community, but to the entire Central Ohio Community. CGF has been bringing awareness to a host of issues affecting our community while providing a platform for local artists, including those with disabilities, to showcase their talents. This community event began in 1984 and includes something for the entire family. July 29 marks the 33rd year for this family oriented community program.
This free fun-filled family event begins at 10 a.m. with the first annual Columbus Disabilities Fest Awareness Walk. The program will conclude around 9 p.m. The artisitc performances will range from contemporary R&B, Christian, Eclectic, Jazz, dance, rap, hiphop and other types of positive music. There will various diverse art forms of artistic expression with both local and national artists helping to show an appreciation for cultural and artistic diversity.
The Wellness Fair will have participants that include CareSource, Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus Fire Department, American Red Cross, UPFAD, NAMI, Austim Society of Central Ohio, Addicted Mothers, Hope for Heroin Salvation Army(Human Trafficking) and *Aids Health Foundation (AHF) Franklin County Sheriff, Nami Ohio
