Playwright and Actor Michael Mack’s boyhood goal of becoming a Catholic priest ended at age 11 when his pastor abused him. Over the next 40 years Mack painfully wrestled with his sexuality and spirituality. He imagined meeting his abuser.
In 2005, the Boston Globe reported the widespread sexual abuse of children by Catholic priests. The Pulitzer Prize winning articles prompted Mack to successfully search online for the priest who had abused him.
This one-person, 90-minute autobiographical play recounts his travels to his former pastors’ doorstep and the ensuing conversation. Mack’s drama also chronicles his journey away from-and back to-the Catholic Church.
