The Gospel Soul Brunch Series, hosted by Debra James Tucker on the first Sunday of each month on Soul Sunday at Natalie’s, continues with the outstanding group E-Flat. Showtime is 2:30 pm and the Sunday Brunch menu is available from 11 am until 3 pm for these shows.
E-Flat features some of the best musicians in Central Ohio, and the members consist of founder David Dennis (Saxophone), Jesse Leonard (Bass Guitar), Kabaka Ashe (Keyboard), Jerry Powell (Drums) and Christina Myles (Vocals). The band plays a mix of originals, smooth jazz, gospel, R&B and neo soul. E-Flat has performed at a number of venues and events, including the Historic Lincoln Theatre.
The unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz, classical and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence, has been visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music, and an artist in residence with a number of youth arts organizations.
Soul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month and includes a delicious Brunch from 11 am until 3 pm, with the Derek DiCenzo Trio performing between 11 am and 1 pm. The Gospel Show Brunch show begins at 2:30 pm and presents the best national and regional Gospel Artists in concert. The evening show, hosted by Paisha Thomas, features a variety of Soul bands and artists starting at 8 pm. In addition to the regular menu, enjoy a “Soul Food” special, presented by Smithfield Ham, created just for this series!
