Holiday Travel Advisory

The Columbus community has been able to safety reopen amidst the COVID-19 pandemic by ensuring proper health and safety protocols are in place, including a citywide mask mandate. Currently, a statewide curfew is in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday, Dec. 10 to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The Franklin County stay-at-home advisory, in effect until Dec. 18, asks citizens not to leave their residences or travel outside of Ohio unless it is absolutely necessary. Harvest Blooms delivers an otherworldly autumn landscape of hundreds upon hundreds of pumpkins, heirloom gourds, colorful mums and autumn foliage cascading through the botanical gardens. This fall fantasy also includes an all new pumpkin playhouse, the return of the beloved pumpkin house, and a pumpkin display expansion into the Grand Mallway.

“When most gardens around central Ohio begin to ramp down with the approach of fall, the Conservatory ramps it back up with the vibrant autumnal colors and textures of Harvest Blooms,” said Associate Director of Horticulture Amanda Bettin. “The fall season can be experienced in an extraordinary way at the Conservatory, and it shouldn’t be missed.”

In all, Harvest Blooms 2019 will include:

-       4,000 members of the Cucurbitacea family (ornamental gourds, pumpkins, squash)

-       4,300 flowering Chrysanthemums (aka hardy mums)

-       A 10-ft tall Pumpkin House

-       An 8-ft tall Pumpkin Playhouse (new in 2019!)

Harvest Blooms is made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsor Fahlgren Mortine.
