(Not) Sheep Gallery, located in the Short North at 17 West Russell St., represents artists who are speaking out about social issues and various controversial subjects. In honor of Valentine’s Day, it will be hosting an art show from February 1-28 featuring artists Chas Ray Krider, Sare, Paul Richmond, Chay Ruby, Katherine Shinko, and others. The show will address various aspects of love, including but not limited to: Familial love, LGBTQ+ relationships, and problems in love (such as domestic violence, societal rejection, etc.).
Each artist chosen for this show will be bringing in pieces that represent different aspects of love, attempting to bring specific attention to the kinds of love that are often overlooked or not included during Valentine’s Day. Additionally, (NOT) Sheep Gallery will have a selection of gifts for purchase including romantic vegetable and flower seed varieties, and will be donating 5% of all proceeds to Planned Parenthood.
On February 12th, the gallery will be hosting a paint-your-own pottery event with The Clay Café. The event will be held at the gallery’s location on 17 West Russell street from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM and is open to the public. It will include Valentine’s day treats such as chocolates, cookies, light snacks, drinks, and other refreshments (vegan and dairy-free options available). Additionally, Stan Smith will be playing guitar throughout the event.
Entry to the gallery as well as food and drinks will be free. Participating in the paint-your-own pottery event will cost $35 per person or 2 for $60 for couples. Payment can be made at the event. Please call or e-mail (Not) Sheep Gallery to secure a spot so that we can secure enough product for everyone.
