Join CCAD's expert faculty during free lunchtime presentations about their work in art and design. These short presentations - one hour in total - will be on a single project, a creative skill, a presentation of work, or a professional experience. Guests are invited to bring a brown bag lunch (or pick up something from CCAD's cafeteria). All presentations are in the Canzani Multipurpose Room on the second floor of Canzani (60 Cleveland Ave.) from 11 a.m. to noon. Parking is free. Thursday, May 4, we'll feature: Assistant Professor of Writing, Literature, and Philosophy Josh Butts has had poems appear in a number of journals, including Sonora Review, Tampa Review, Birmingham Poetry Review, Harpur Palate, Forklift, Ohio, and Quarterly West. Butts' first poetry collection, New to the Lost Coast, was published by Gold Wake Press. He will read from ongoing poetry projects developed at the Sewanee Writers' Conference. Fashion Design Chair Suzanne Cotton, who studied at the Parsons New School for Design in New York City and Paris, France, has extensive experience in the garment industry, where she specialized in knitwear design for more than 18 years for such companies as Design Options and Marisa Christina. Cotton moved to Columbus, OH to become the design director for BellePointe, whose customers included Macy's, Saks Fifth Ave, and specialty retailers across the United States and Canada. She will talk about her eco design class and their trip to Ecuador. For more information, visit ccad.edu/facultylectures.
