The Creative Women of Color collective was formed in 2006 under the name of Sistahs of the Arts to support and advance art among African American women of all ages. Although our name has changed our mission as artists and community members continues to be influenced by our rich African heritage. We seek to partner with individuals and organizations to strengthen the presence and further the appreciation of art.

Creative Women of Color view art as a powerful social force. It is a form of expression that has always been part of the structure of our society. As African American Woman artists, our work is influenced by our heritage and cultural traditions. CWoC represents a broad and diverse range of artistic talent.
