Beavers the size of black bears thrived in wetland habitats across North America during the last Ice Age, especially in the Great Lakes Region. We have a notable collection fossils of this dramatic species, including one unearthed less than a mile from the Ohio History Center. Join guest curator and researcher Tessa Print of the University of Western Ontario to learn about this extinct mega-rodent and get an up-close look at related fossils in our Nature of Ohio exhibit.
