Oldies but Goodies 1957-63: Songs, Fun, and Memories
7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
$10 suggested donation
Overbrook Presbyterian Church
4131 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214
Columbus musician Bill Cohen will be singing hit songs made famous by the likes of Chubby Checker, Ricky Nelson, the Everly Brothers, Sam Cooke, Paul Anka, Bobby Vee, Fabian, the Shirelles, and others. A brief salute to the "bad boys" of early bluesy rock will also be featured - Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and Chuck Berry. Beautiful doo-wop background vocals will be added by the Harmonettes (Jackie LaMuth, Renilda Marshall, and Teresa Schleifer.) And the vocalists will be backed by instrumental wizards Brian Szuch on electric lead guitar and Renilda Marshall on bass. Plus, we'll have fun with trivia questions about 1950's songs, fads, and singers.
We're suggesting $10 per person donations at the door, with proceeds going to the Clintonville Community Resource Center's programs that help senior citizens. In other words, this concert will feature oldies but goodies songs for oldies but goodies people. Get it?
