Is your teen passionate about making art? Are they looking for a supplement to their art education, to improve their portrait making skills, or to make friends with artists their own age? In this four session class, students will work from a live model to complete an oil painted portrait with guided instruction. Each session will begin with printed materials handed out to students regarding resources and tips to practice and better understand portrait painting, as well as a brief demo from CCAD alum, Liz McManus. The first session of this class will be dedicated to drawing a rough portrait, as it is the foundation of a good portrait painting. The three following sessions will be dedicated to completing the painting portion of the portrait. Canvases, drawing and painting materials will be provided. Sketchbook highly recommended, but not required.
This difficulty level of this class is moderate. Some experience in drawing and painting highly recommended.
This four session class takes place on Feb. 22, March 1, 8, and 15. The class is $200 total for all four sessions.
