Raag- Taal was established in 2010 with the vision of enabling cultural dialogue between East and West by sharing Indian performing arts, history and culture with a worldwide audience through instrumental music, singing, dancing, and storytelling. The philosophy of Raag-Taal is based on the ancient Indian performing arts text the “Natyasastra,” written by Saint Bharata Muni in 2nd century B.C. Raag-Taal follows the ancient dictum that music, dance and drama are components of a single art form. Raag-Taal aims to celebrate traditional performing arts, foster individual creativity and communicate Indian culture’s values and tradition.
