Taking its title from Sun Ra’s 1972 album, "Astro Black" is an ongoing video series that features the cosmic jazz musician as the central character in an alternate, Afrofuturist history of music and culture emerging from what scholar Paul Gilroy has termed the hybrid, diasporic Black Atlantic space. In the four episodes on view, the Australian duo remix footage and sounds ranging from "I Dream of Jeannie" and "The Matrix" to "Grandmaster Flash and Public Enemy." (26:20 mins., digital video)

Soda_Jerk join us to present their anarchic "Terror Nullius" on October 28 as part of our "Unorthodocs." festival.
