Somatosensory: relating to or denoting a sensation that can occur anywhere in the body, in contrast to one localized at a sense organ." - Oxford Dictionaries.
This exhibition is a multimedia sculpture exhibit that transforms the somatosensory system of the human body into a conceptual device by engaging the viewers desire to touch the artwork as well as causing reflection in the viewer towards hyperaware sensations within their own body. The shows experimentation with vivid texture and color not only creates tactile proximity to the inner landscape of the human form, but emotional proximity as well.
Join is for the opening of "Somatosensory" with a reception in our gallery on May 6 from 2-7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Admission is free! Gallery is open every day 12-6 p.m. Exhibition runs May 6-30.
