Soul Sunday continues at Natalie’s with the group Copacetic, featuring members Edward Hill (saxophones), David Jordan (keyboards) and Derek Brown (guitars). With roots in gospel, jazz and soul, the band works to blend their experiences and musical interest to create a soul-stirring smooth jazz sound that appeals to many. The band members have been friends for years and it shows when they play together. Copacetic simply means “all is well” or “everything is cool,” which is the goal each time they perform – for those listening to walk away with a great listening experience and feeling that everything is cool, all is well!
Soul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month, and includes a delicious Brunch from 11 am until 3 pm, with the Derek DiCenzo TRio performing between 11 am and 1 pm. The Gospel Soul Brunch show begins at 2:30 pm and presents the best national and regional gospel artists, hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker. The evening show, hosted by Paisha Thomas, features a variety of soul bands and artists starting at 8 pm. In addition to the regular menu, enjoy a soul food special sponsored by Smithfield Ham, created just for this series!
The monthly Soul Sunday evening shows are coordinated and hosted by the talented Paisha Thomas. Paisha is a locally-based entertainer who engages others through art with her singing and songwriting. She creates music about love, politics, self-discovery and the condition of the world.
