Historic German church located in west Columbus hosts 36th annual Brats & Crafts Festival, Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 4. Hours are 4-9 p.m. Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Event includes live polka-style music and dancing, authentic and homemade German table fare, beer wagon, arts and crafts fair, children's games and an 1860s-era "base ball" game between the Ohio Village Muffins and the Lutheran Strikers (Saturday at 3 p.m.) Featured musical entertainment throughout the weekend provided by Ken and Mary Turbo Accordions Express, the Hilliard Community Band, Central Ohio Squeezebox, Germania Haus Kapelle’ and the Columbus Maennerchor. The event concludes Sunday afternoon with a traditional German language worship service spoken and sung much like the church's nine founding families did in 1847.
