Join the Ted Lewis Museum as they pay tribute to Circleville's favorite son and one of the greatest entertainers of all time, Ted Lewis! The festival kicks off with a screening of Ted's 1943 biopic Is Everybody Happy at the Pickaway County Main Library on Friday at 7 PM. Admission is free and so is the popcorn! The Saturday festivities begin with a free Kiddie Karnival at 10 AM at Ted Lewis Park. Step back to 1903 with a side show, free cotton candy, story-time, crafts, musical instrument petting zoo and fun for kids of all ages! At 11:30 we will recreate one of the most popular forms of turn-of -he-century entertainment in Dr. Cooper's Medicine Show. At 1 PM, the Pickaway County Main library will host a free lecture by Ted Lewis expert Mark Berresford entitled Jazz De Luxe - Ted Lewis and His Role in the Dawn of the Jazz Age, 1916-1920. The highlight of the weekend will be the Ted Lewis Orchestra Revue of 1952 at 7 PM at Circleville High School. This show will feature a 12-piece big band, singers, dancers and special guest star Cathy Basic Van (singer with Ted Lewis 1955-1960) paying tribute to Ted's revue in the 1950s. Tickets for the Saturday evening show at $10 for adults and free for children and students. On Sunday at 2 PM, Ted Lewis Park will come alive with the music of Sousa, von Supp, and Pryor as the museum presents a free 1902 Circleville Cadet Band Concert in the park. A 25-piece concert band will recreate a typical concert program from the era with rousing marches and light classics from Ted's childhood days.
