In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Time is the most valuable, non-renewable resource we have as humans. It shapes the relationships we create, the decisions we make, and the actions we take. What does time mean to you? TEDxYearlingRoad: TIME will take place on Wednesday, October 24th, at the Walter Armes Learning Center at Whitehall-Yearling High School. Check-in begins at 4:00 PM. Doors to the auditorium will open at 5:00 PM for seating. A program meal with delicious Greek selections from King Gyro (a Whitehall favorite) will be offered at intermission along with coffee from the Roosevelt Coffeehouse throughout. For more information, visit www.tedxyearlingroad.com.

Why is it called TEDxYearlingRoad? The section of Yearling Road located south of Broad Street and north of Main Street is the lifeline of our community. It is where our city government, school district administration, high school, police and fire departments, and many small, local businesses all reside. It is the heart and soul of our community. We felt it was appropriate to name our TEDx event TEDxYearlingRoad. We hope to help spread ideas and share inspiring stories to ultimately spark meaningful conversations that will change perceptions and ways of thinking for the positive.
