Wonder what “Unexpected” features await for 2019?
We won’t spoil all the tour’s surprises, but expect to see both unique original features as well as lots of modern updates. Interesting finds include a Sears catalog home, a working phone booth converted to a wine cabinet, a walkout basement art studio, and a vaulted Zen room. And it’s not just the homes, the gardens are a must see! This year’s tour is jam packed with sights and ideas for both seasoned and aspiring gardeners. Highlights include a mini-greenhouse, a garden that is a certified wildlife habitat, a birdwatcher’s oasis, and a re-imagined use for the “green roof” concept.
The tour, in its ninth year, embodies the spirit of the Westgate Neighbors Association and the growing focus on building a more connected community by supporting resident-inspired initiatives like the Westgate Farmers Market, Friends of Westgate Park, Westgate Food Trucks Line Up, the Columbus Westside Running Club, and Westgate Brews.
