Two local early music ensembles, The Early Interval and Fior Angelico, join forces to present a festive and mystical Twelfth Night. This program revels in the sumptuous music of the Spanish Renaissance and early Baroque, known as Spain's Golden Age. Featured works are the Missa O magnum mysterium by Tomás Luis de Victoria and seasonal motets, alongside instrumental fantasias, variations, and dances, including favorites enjoyed by Columbus audiences spanning four decades.

Since 1976, The Early Interval has explored and celebrated the rich history of medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music, inviting their audiences to experience a millennium of exciting sound worlds. The ensemble sings and performs on replica instruments unique to each period, including recorders, viols, violin, lutes, percussion, and many more.

Formed in 2006, Fior Angelico is a Columbus-based chamber chorus of sixteen singers dedicated to the performance of early music. Past programs have featured the works of such Renaissance masters as Josquin, Isaac, Willaert, Palestrina, Lassus, Victoria, Byrd, Tallis, and Monteverdi. The name Fior Angelico comes from the title of a 1547 music theory treatise, Fior angelico di musica (“The Angelic Flower of Music”), written by Fra Angelo da Picitono.
