The Trip [Version 1] | [Unknown Eric Reel] (Andy Warhol, 1966)

Introduced by series cocurators Geralyn Huxley and Gregory Pierce

In The Trip [Version 1], Eric Emerson, making his Warhol feature film debut, delivers an almost nonstop monologue on his philosophies of love, life, and work, all while stripping, painting his nails, and drinking milk. (66 mins., digital video)

In [Unknown Eric Reel], Emerson sits atop a large, egg-shaped sculpture while discussing whether he is a boy or a girl (among other topics) with fellow Warhol “Superstars” Susan Bottomly, Angelina “Pepper” Davis, and Ingrid Superstar. (33 mins., digital video)

The evening is introduced by The Andy Warhol Museum’s Curator of Film and Video Geralyn Huxley and Associate Curator of Film and Video Gregory Pierce.
