Write a Story Start to Finish
Instructor: Erin Flanagan
In this three-hour master class, were each going to write a short story from beginning to end. Sound ambitious? Youre damn right, but it's doable. Well start by breaking down the narrative elements of a story, take a look at structure, do a quick sketch of scenes, then get to work. Bring your writing implements of choice (paper and pen, computer, tablet, etc), the belief that you can do this, and the biggest coffee you can carry.
INSTRUCTOR: Erin Flanagan is the author of two short story collections: The Usual Mistakes and Its Not Going to Kill You, and Other Stories. She is a professor of English at Wright State University where she teaches fiction writing.
Master classes are three-hour in-depth sessions; each master class is $150. All sessions are held at Thurber Center, 91 Jefferson Avenue. You must be 18 to participate. All registrations are non-refundable.
