The Franklinton Arts District is pleased to announce, Urban Scrawl 11 will be held on Saturday, August 26 from noon to 10 p.m. and on Sunday, August 27 from noon to 6 p.m. at 400 West Rich in Franklinton.
The event is free to attend and open to the general public.
Urban Scrawl is a two-day arts festival organized by the Franklinton Arts District featuring the live creation of murals by talented artists from Columbus and beyond. Since 2007, Urban Scrawl has provided artists a way to showcase their talent while participating in Central Ohio's largest ongoing urban renewal project. Each year, the number of participants, murals, sponsors, and attendees has grown, making this a landmark summer event in Columbus.
Many of these completed murals are made available for purchase annually at the Art for Franklinton fundraiser auction to benefit Franklinton Arts District's George Bellows Artist Grant Program. Murals not appearing in the fundraiser auction are weather-sealed and mounted publicly in the neighborhood in cooperation with local businesses and non-profit organizations.
Urban Scrawl is held outside 400 W. Rich St. Street parking is available in the general vicinity of the event and surface lot parking is available in the lots west of Lucas between Rich and Town Streets.
